Introduction:
Before reading this article and definitely before sending an email, read the sources and pledge sections.

9.  Laptop batteries lasting just a few hours

For the love of all that is good and holy can't we come up with a better battery?  GOOD GRIEF. I'd pay $500 for a laptop battery that lasts a month of continuous use and charges in a few hours.  I'd pay $20 per C or D battery that lasts over 5000 hours in my flashlight...my power hungry incandescent flashlight.  This assumes that both batteries perform as well or better than the current battery.

8.  People blame the President for everything.

It's not the President's fault that you are rich or poor or losing your job or can't find a job.  It is your fault.  End of story.  It's not the President's fault people are killed, the weather isn't perfect for you, that large companies go corrupt.  Want him to write a law?  Speak out against it?  Wave a magic wand to stop it?  Laws are written against people killing other people and I'm sure people speak out about it and wave magic wands to stop it...but it still happens.  Get use to it.

7.  Cars, no full sized and full powered trucks do not get 200+ mpg

Yep, it is still ticking me off.  My name is on the lists to purchase the first of the top 3 cars getting over 200 mpg, including the 900lb 2 passenger 330mpg car.  I still want a full powered truck and there isn't a good reason that we do not have one yet.

6.  People who do not pay child support

I'm tired of paying for their kids and you should be too.  This was one of my most hotly debated articles and the only negative responses I received were from males trying to explain that their ex-wives took everything and that they don't owe anything.

5.  People who refuse to improve their own lives and then complain about their current situations.

I see it every day in the 50 or so offices I work in.  Secretaries that complain about not getting paid well yet pass over higher paying jobs because there is too much work involved.  People fail to see that steps up, even little ones, are the best way to get up.  Complainers want more pay for work that the job market doesn't have a large need for and can find from anyone.

4.  Windows doesn't shut down when you click "SHUT DOWN".

It happens.  Fortunately my work allows for a laptop.  Every once in awhile I'll be working on my laptop and need to leave immediately.  I click Start and Shutdown and Shutdown and close my laptop.  I come back and it it is still on because some background program hung and it brought up a message asking if I want to shut that program down.  SHUT DOWN MEANS SHUT DOWN.

3.  One of my all time pet peeves is the CD/DVD tray not opening when I click to open it.

Just like shut down means shut down, open means STOP EVERYTHING and OPEN.  End of story.

2.  Windows slows down due to a hung program but there is plenty of memory and processing power displayed in Taskman.

Sure the program can hang, who cares, but I should be able to use Windows after it hangs.  Windows should keep programs from taking up too much memory and isolate the memory the program does use so that it is easily cleared up.  Windows claims to do this but it clearly doesn't work.

1.  Anti-Virus software and print drivers/programs hogging memory.

Norton and/or MacAfee eat memory and are 90% of the reasons my laptops slow down and have problems...the fact that we need anti-virus software sucks but read point 8. and use some association.

Notice the title says "RIGHT NOW" and do not email me that I am sheltered and there are bigger problems and blah, blah, blah, blah.  You really can't add to my list either since it has the words  "Me" and "Right now" in the title.  I'll take suggestions, though and write an article of "you" and "at the time of my article."

Before you send any other comments, remember this too:  Stupidity is not in the eye of the beholder. Stupidity is believing that you are not stupid like the rest of us.  And yes, I am doing something about it.  I am posting my opinions for public comment which evokes public thought.  Things may get worse through this "public thought process" but at least they are changing.

My Pledge

As you may notice in the many articles to come, I absolutely can not stand people that have an opinion about something they know very little about or didn't take the time to research before giving their opinion.  I pledge that I will not write a single article about a subject that I don't know enough about to see several sides of the issue.  If you think I am missing something, I'd love to be the first to know about it.
