Introduction:
Before reading this article and definitely before sending an email, read the sources and pledge sections.

I don't know who coined my title but I really like it so I'm keeping it.

How much more can be written about this?  How many more opinions can be stated?  Especially two weeks after the fact, Janet Jackson's breast incident has to be worth more than the cost all the advertising before and after the Super Bowl combined.  Maybe not, but it has to be close, especially when you start adding in all of the people with an opinion writing about it, talking about it and broadcasting it.

First of all, do you want to know why celebrities make so much money?  If you are not one of the 3 people that read my articles (me, my wife and someone that I honestly don't know) you don't know about this article.  Nothing, and I mean nothing, sells better than sex.  Everyone knows it.

So what is wrong with Janet Jackson's nipple incident?  Well, first of all, I know I saw a star shaped object on the nipple, so no nipple was actually seen.  Honestly, I only saw it once, when it happened, and I knew right away what I had to say.  But, I waited until all the people searching for that illusive nipple on the Internet calmed down so I wasn't taking advantage of traffic I don't deserve.  OK so actually I was coaching and didn't have time to write this article.

Some people say the nipple cover was a sun, I'm sure they have figured it out by now but that's not the point.

The first thing wrong is Justin Timberlake isn't taking as much heat as he should.  It's the famous "women are degraded when sexual things happen and men are promoted to be studs" effect.  In reality, Justin Timberlake (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly, I truly couldn't care less if I'm not) is the one that should be taking the heat.  He was the one that bared the breast and if he wouldn't have ripped the jacket, I can almost guarantee Janet wouldn't have.

That was the first thing but the most important thing is that this didn't happen on MTV.  This didn't happen on HBO or during a "parental advisory" special.  This happened in front of God and everybody, without warning and without shame.  If parents don't want their kids watching the things on MTV and all the other stations,  they DON'T SUBSCRIBE TO THEM.  Yes, that is worth a shout.  Don't be STUPID.  In this case, even the innocent, the people trying to do the right things, the people that trust the FCC to do their jobs were burnt.

You are always going to have the parents that don't even want their kids to watch the TV commercials and that is their prerogative.  I don't know if I want my 4-11 year old girl knowing about erectile dysfunction either.  I don't know because I don't have a child that age yet.  To complain about commercials, however, is getting a little bit on the ridiculous side...unless they bare Janet Jackson's breast.

So now I'm going to start writing in a circle (I am actually talking about this a bit but I won't be when you read this...hopefully not anyway).  The next point I want to make is, who cares.  I mean really.  After everything that we see on TV.  How many times have you seen a breast with just the nipple covered?  The Oscars?  The Grammy's (however that is spelled, don't watch that either unless my wife makes me)?  What about the dresses those women wear?  Ever been to a populated beach when the weather is hot?  What about those breasts?  And, quite frankly, Janet Jackson's breast wasn't on the air enough to do anything at all.  They realized instantly and switched cameras almost as quickly.

By raising such a big stink about the whole deal all of the organizations involved are salivating at all of the publicity.  Do you think that they are not trying to advertise to the people that appreciate a good breast incident every once in awhile?  Are you sure?  How many erectile dysfunction commercials were there again?

That brings me to my next point and the title of my article.  Society is being desensitized, demoralized, de-listen-to-ized, dereligionized, demarriedized and all of the other words that I can make up that go along those lines.  Ever seen two famous women kiss on TV?  No?  Neither have your parents?  Your 10 year old probably has.  How many times has the public voted for something and didn't get it passed?*  Can't say Christmas any more, might hurt someone's feelings.  Can't say man and wife any more, might exclude someone.  It even goes further than that, so far that I am not going to get started.  OK one more.  If a cross stands for the death of Jesus to someone then that's fantastic for them.  You can look at it like a pogo-stick if it doesn't mean that to you.

More and more things are happening to us and slowly, but surely, the unthought-of of is becoming main-stay even when the general public disagrees.  It extends to everything, for ump-teen years in a row we have rejected several taxes, yet, every year, some "representative" puts the taxes back on the ballet.  Didn't want it last year, maybe we can change their minds.  They wear on you.  They threaten you.  They dumb you down.

TV, like the Super Bowl halftime show, wears on you, threatens your way of life.  I know what you are thinking.  Especially if you are male...more power to the women who expose their breasts.  Think of it this way.  What if your little girl saw that?  What if your little girl was exposed to that every time she turned around?  Worse yet, what if your girl wanted to do that?  Not so desirable any more huh.

Hurray for Hugh Heppner, hurray for legal porn on the Internet, hurry for women that love to take their cloths off in private, well managed clubs, nude beaches and adult parties.  If they can do that with a clear conscience then good for them.  Seriously.  That's America.  If you want it, it is there.  The line is drawn, however, when people that don't want that in their lives are subjected to it, when their families are subjected to it without their knowledge, let alone consent, and without warning.  The main stream rules.  The main stream says that those actions are not main stream. A few people want to dumb down the main stream to make a few bucks.  In the process they are dumbing down society because society just takes it.  Are you going to take it?

*Don't even start about the Presidency...you know how that works, or should; Bush is the President.  He won.  Period.

I may be stupid but so are you.  Stupidity is not in the eye of the beholder. Stupidity is believing that you are not stupid like the rest of us.

My Pledge

As you may notice in the many articles to come, I absolutely can not stand people that have an opinion about something they know very little about or didn't take the time to research before giving their opinion.  I pledge that I will not write a single article about a subject that I don't know enough about to see several sides of the issue.  If you think I am missing something, I'd love to be the first to know about it.
