Isn't this story about the

Boy dies of tooth ache.

There is a child in Maryland who is dead
because his mother didn't take him to the dentist. She couldn't
afford the $80 tooth extraction. What is the outcry? Parents
abusing their kids? Parents having kids even though they can't
provide for them? The father not paying child support? NOPE.
You and I should have to pay for them. Some how it is our fault this happened.
If only we could force dentists to
accept Medicaid. If only we forced dentists to accept children who
can't pay. If only we could get America to raise your child, too.
If only we could force you to take a 50%
pay cut on top of the taxes that you are already paying. If only we
could force you to go to work even though you may no, and probably will not,
be paid. What? This isn't about you? You need to
keep reading.

They keep calling the single parent family a "family" as if the father is
around to help provide for the children. For some reason, I'm sure
they would have delved deeply into the fact that the father was killed or
other wise 100% unable to provide this care for his children as well if it
was true. They didn't bring it up so I'm assuming he is still alive
and is not paying child support or providing for his children either.
He is even more responsible for his child's fate.
The article also says "...three of Driver's sons went to stay..."
How many kids does she have? It doesn't sound like she can afford
one child let alone many children.
I can guarantee that people are going to email me and say that
contraceptives are not as readily available to poor people. To which
I say "Get real. That is so ridiculous that I refuse to respond to it."
The article points out that it is hard to get free services. Life
isn't easy, you really have to work for it, even if it is free; but the
services are available. Traveling for hours to get dental care means
that there is care.
There is another aspect to this entire problem. Relocation.
Unemployment is at an all time low so there is no reason you can't move
closer to services and find a new job. Rich people do it all the
time, traveling all over the country, disrupting their family, taking
their kids away from where they grew up...it's a part of life and a way to
get ahead.

Why can't people take care of themselves? Be responsible, live
within their means? I can guarantee you that this story goes much
deeper...little to no education, missed opportunities, having children too
young, abuse (not only by not taking the children to the dentist because
the child's life depends on it, but the parents were probably abused/neglected as
well). I'm reaching here, but any family that allows this to go this
far has serious problems.
One more thing...the $250,000 hospital bill is probably what they charge
non-insurance clients. If you have insurance, the hospital will
charge you 3/4 to half of that amount and then bill your insurance.
In other words they reduce the bill to $125,000 to $188,000 and then bill
your insurance and then you. Basically, if you aren't insured they
are stealing your money. It's called theft...and theft of the worst
kind...stealing from the poor to give to the rich.
Seriously, stop having kids if you can't afford them. Stop the
neglect, stop the abuse, stop demanding that everyone else needs to take
care of you because you're irresponsible.

Don't email me if you think I am bashing the poor or the mentally ill.
Those who are not able to take care of themselves really have nothing to
do with this story. If the mother in this story doesn't have an
education somewhere it is her fault. She should have not had
children and filed for the thousands of scholarships to go to school...and
don't get me started on how her parents/family failed her.
Before you send any other comments, remember this too: Stupidity
is not in the eye of the beholder. Stupidity is believing that you are not
stupid like the rest of us. And yes, I am doing something about it.
I am posting my opinions for public comment which evokes public thought.
Things may get worse through this "public thought process" but at least
they are changing.
My Pledge
As you may notice in the many articles to come, I absolutely can not
stand people that have an opinion about something they know very little
about or didn't take the time to research before giving their opinion. I
pledge that I will not write a single article about a subject that I don't
know enough about to see several sides of the issue. If you think I am
missing something,
I'd love to be the first to know about it.
