Introduction:
Before reading this article and definitely before sending an email, read the sources and pledge sections.

I was cruising through the Internet and there it was.  OK so it was on the front page of MSN but this article cracks me up.

In a nut shell it is people complaining about their co-workers.  According to the article 53% of people complain about their co-workers being monkeys...that means there are a lot of people who are doing the complaining while being complained about.  People complain about everything from the lady in the cubicle next to them talking baby talk, to the boss who gets mad and swears and throws his chair (the article didn't say anything about the chair hitting anyone...).

What are you guys...5?  Dealing with annoying people is part of being a human.  Stick any group of people together and you will have conflict.  Period. End of story, that's it, good-bye article.  To complain about it means that the complainer is the most annoying person out of the entire bunch of co-workers.  Just go to your job, do your job, get done, go home.

I didn't see a single complaint on the list that had anything to do with job performance, or getting screwed over by the boss, or not getting paid for working (though everyone complains they aren't paid enough.  Look at what happens to CEOs and politicians when they are the ones in charge of paying themselves.), or dealing with some type of physical abuse, racism, harassment...nope.  I see a bunch of whiny complaints that a kid would make.

"Mom, she's touching me again!"

"No I'm not."

The real problem here is this...people don't think about what they want to do when they grow up.  Take the teachers for instance.  I've heard many people say in their most sincere voice "I want to be a teacher when I grow up, helping kids is what I want to do."  That's all fine and dandy but you aren't going to be paid what you are worth, you aren't going to be surrounded by the most social group in the work force (most teachers are lame...let's face it), you'll have to deal with problem children daily (OK so not so bad) but that means you will have to deal with their parents: daily (Yeah, that sucks.).  Teachers choose to be teachers.  No one forces them to teach.  It is the same in every profession.  If you enjoy the duties of being a teacher and all of the crap that goes along with it then be a teacher.  Don't become a teacher and then complain about it...that's ridiculous and complaining makes you the most annoying person ever.

I read a lot about cubicles and their dynamics.  When I was going to get into college I specifically chose a career that kept me away from cubicles.  I really don't like having someone sitting right next to me 8 hours plus a day 5 days plus a week...let alone having multiple people sitting next to me.  Think before you act.

Most people just end up with a job because they didn't plan ahead.  Most people complain about their jobs non-stop.  Most people are the really annoying people.  At least the people on the annoying list are trying to make the best of it. :)

Next time you are annoyed by someone eating your lunch from the refrigerator...remember it was you who chose a job that doesn't pay enough to allow you to take your Bentley out to lunch at a fine restaurant at any time you choose, for as long as you want.  Next time you are annoyed by the man throwing his chair down the hall, remember it is you who chose to work with people who have a hard time separating work from home.  Next time you are annoyed by the person scratching your back...remember that people who plan ahead in their lives actually pay to get their backs scratched.  OK so massaged: scratched, massaged...at least you aren't paying for it.

Don't email me if you think I am bashing the poor, I'm not, I'm one of you or might as well be.  I'm just saying that you need to stop complaining because by doing so you are the complainer and thus the annoying one.

Before you send any other comments, remember this too:  Stupidity is not in the eye of the beholder. Stupidity is believing that you are not stupid like the rest of us.  And yes, I am doing something about it.  I am posting my opinions for public comment which evokes public thought.  Things may get worse through this "public thought process" but at least they are changing.

My Pledge

As you may notice in the many articles to come, I absolutely can not stand people that have an opinion about something they know very little about or didn't take the time to research before giving their opinion.  I pledge that I will not write a single article about a subject that I don't know enough about to see several sides of the issue.  If you think I am missing something, I'd love to be the first to know about it.
